Galatians 5:22-23. “But the fruit of the (Holy) Spirit (the work which the presence within accomplishes) is Love, Joy (Gladness), Peace, PATIENCE (an even temper, forbearance), Kindness, Goodness (benevolence), Faithfulness, Gentleness (Meekness, Humility), Self-Control (Self-restraint, Continence). Against such things there is no law (that can bring a charge)”.
1Timothy 6:11. “But as for you, O man of God, flee from all these things; aim at and pursue Righteousness(right standing with God and true goodness), Godliness(which is the loving fear of God and being Christ-like), Faith, Love, Steadfastness(PATIENCE), and Gentleness of heart”.
According to the scripture, Patience is a fruit of the Holy Spirit of God which dwells in us. It is clear that it’s the product of God the Father in us. Since patience is the spirit or the byproduct of God, therefore we must endeavor to show fort patience always in our daily lives. Make sure you allow patience to take a prominent role in your actions. Remember, Patience is not laziness. Even some editions of the Bible, interpret it as long suffering. In this context it is waiting and hoping that God will surely show fort in the situation. In like manner, it is your waiting in hope will produce result. Beloved, why so many people get it wrongly is that they don’t want to wait for God’s time. Because, the timing of God may not tally with our own timing, and if you are not patient enough, then you can’t work with God. That proves that His Spirit of patience in you is sleeping, you need to wake it up before it is late. For God’s time is the best time for you.
Psalms 40:1. “I waited patiently and expectantly for the Lord and He inclined to me and heard my cry”. Here in the scripture, it used two words that purely give the inner and deeper meaning of PATIENCE. The word WAITED and PATIENTLY, affirms the trust of being with or hoping unto the Lord. That is, it is important for you to be patient, while waiting on to the Lord. Beloved, you have to know that one thing is to wait; another thing is to be patient. The scripture says, as you wait patiently for the Lord, He must surely come to your aid, and grant you, the desire of your heart. As you work with God, you have to wait patiently on to Him. And if you don’t wait for His timing to come, which means that you are not patient. Too, you should not be waiting and be grumbling and grudging against His timing. If only you can wait and wait patiently, you must be visited by God. But if you can’t wait, the possibility of missing it is abundant. But you will not miss it in Jesus name amen.
Isaiah 40:31. “But those who wait for the Lord(who expect, look for and hope in Him) shall change and renew their strength and power, they shall lift their wings and mount up(close to God) as eagles (mount up to the sun); they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired”. Beloved, it is your waiting in hope is simply what God wants from you. Hoping and trusting that He is abundantly able to do it no matter how long it may tarry, that God will do it. When you set your heart, to trust and believe the Lord in this way, then it is waiting PATIENTLY unto God. As the scripture puts it here, it says you shall mount up like an eagle to the sun. That is you shall be close to God, and when you are close to God, He will always renew your strength and fill you with power. This in filling of the Lord will make you to wait without being weary, faint or weak in all things and times, till He comes with your expectations. Remember that the Bible says that the expectation of the righteous shall never be cut off. The scripture simply said, if you wait patiently in expectations of the Lord, He will do it, which means no matter the time and what happens, you will surely receive what you are expecting. Because the devil (Satan) has no power to cut off your expectations from God, for your waiting in hope of the Lord is seen and known to Him. Therefore, God has no option, than to commit Himself to action for your joy of patience to come. Lamentations 3:25-26. “The Lord is good to those who wait hopefully and expectantly for Him, to those who seek Him (inquire of and for Him and require Him by right of necessity and on authority of God’s word). It is good that one should hope in and wait quietly for the salvation (the safety and ease) of the Lord”. Beloved, your quietly waiting in hope of the Lord, expecting that He will do it, makes Him to move into action on your behalf. This scripture says that the Lord is good to those who wait hopefully and expectantly for Him. Also it says, that it is good to hope in (expect, trust and rely) and wait quietly for the Lord. Patience is a weapon of favor from God. Therefore, learn how to wait quietly and patiently without grumbling, grudging and questioning the Lord. He will surely answer you, because He has made the blessings of surprises for the faithful (obedient).
James 5:11. “You know how we call those blessed (happy) who was steadfast (who endured). You have heard of the endurance (patience) of Job, and you have seen the Lord’s (purpose and how He richly blessed him in the) end, inasmuch as the Lord is full of pity and compassion and tenderness and mercy”. Beloved in Christ, those who endured and waited unto the Lord are called the blessed and happy people indeed. You can see that Job was tempted by Satan in the book of Job from chapter one to chapter 41. And in the end, how God restored him in double portion in chapter 42:10. Job was tempted and afflicted by Satan for so many years, and Satan thought that Job will curse God or question God. But Job waited patiently, because he knows that God is the giver of all things and he said let the WILL of God be done in his life. Can you say today let the WILL of God be done in your life? You can see that it is Job’s patient waiting that moved God to tell Satan to stop the mess in his life. And God restored all the things that Job had lost in double portion according to the scripture. Even in the case of our father Abraham, God called him when he was at the age of seventy-five years and promised to make him father of many nation, while at this age he has no child. And God fulfilled this promise to him at the age of one hundred years, (Genesis chapter 12 to chapter 21). You can see that Abraham waited patiently unto the Lord for good twenty-five years, before the promise was fulfilled. Beloved, this is not story, but a reality that those who believed it are called the righteous with father Abraham. Then the question is this; Do you believe it? And what is that thing that you have been praying and waiting for? How long have you waited for it? Can you be able to wait for twenty-five years? My beloved, no matter whatever may be your answer; I want to appeal to you to exercise a little more patience for it. As you wait patiently, it must surely come. Impatience is not of God. It is impatience that Satan uses to rub people out of their blessings, as in the case of King Saul. In the book of (1Samuel 13:8-14). King Saul agreed with Samuel the Priest, on when to come, but when Saul waited unto Samuel to come he could not see him. Then impatience and fear moved him to think that Samuel will no longer come. Now he thought that their enemy (Philistines) will come up and destroy them.
You can see all the manipulations of the enemy (Satan) FEAR and IMPATIENCE. Now because of impatience and fear, Saul went to offer sacrifice which is meant for the priest to do, which leads to his disobedient to God. Have you seen it? Beloved, once you understand the strategies and manipulations of the enemy (Satan), you will be able to work with God effectively. Satan will not want you to be patient in any way, but as you rely on God for all things, He will make you to wait patiently for His appointed time for you.
Ecclesiastes 3:1. “To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven”. This simply means, that God has time for everything He does. Therefore you have to wait patiently for God’s own timing, and not your own timing. Know you that the owner (God) has rule over His things and not the thing to have rule over itself.
James 1:4. “But Endurance and Steadfastness and PATIENCE have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be (people) perfectly and fully developed (with no defects), lacking in nothing”. Patience is an institution of its own, which you must pass through, so that you will be perfect and lacking in nothing. It is a special training school, and whosoever passed through it has passed in life and eternity to come. The institution of Patience is full of treasures of life and knowledge. Beloved, you can as well understand that it is your waiting patiently for that which is not visible, but you trusts God’s ability of doing it, that is FAITH. And Faith cannot work without Patience. God is patient in His doings, which is why it took Him a whole week to create everything He created, instead of using a second or a minute or even a day. He shows us more of His patience even when we are deep in sin or out of His way. He will be patient waiting for us to repent and come back to Him. Our God is a patient God, so you must be patient in life. Finally beloved, exercise patience in all things today and you will be perfectly and fully developed, lacking in nothing in your life. Patience is also a tool to win the favor of God for the fulfillments of His promises. (Patience and Faith works together).
God bless you in Jesus name – Amen. (All Scriptures Amplified).
